FITTING GUIDE FOR YOUR BOTTLE LAMP KIT

The following guide is for the Black & White E14 and E27 kits

 they are all the same push fit wiring system.

(BOTTLE, BULB & LAMPSHADE NOT INCLUDED)
 
The Universal bottle lamp wiring kit fits virtually all standard wine bottles and all 70cl to 1.5 litre spirits bottles. It comprises of a pre wired UK fused plug now with an upgraded 2.5m cable with an in-line on/off switch, a  grommet to protect the cable where it enters the rear of the bottle (a 10mm hole will need to be drilled), a lamp holder with a universal rubber bung that will fit virtually all 70cl to 1.5 litre spirits bottles and virtually all standard wine bottles.

You will need

  1.   10mm diamond drill bit (option to buy with a kit for an extra £1.99)
  2. Electric drill (not supplied) 
  3. Small flat head screw driver. (not supplied) 

 

Use the drill to drill the 10mm hole in the bottom rear of the bottle about 1 to 2″ from the base. Ensure the glass is kept damp/wet when drilling and allow the drill bit to cut the glass slowly don’t apply to much pressure as this will crack the glass. Practicing on a separate bottle first is a good idea. 

 

The plastic grommet for the hole in the bottle is already on the wire the correct way.

 
 
Push the bare wire ends through the newly drilled hole then hold the bottle up-side down to easily feed the cable through the bottle top. 

 

Prise open the universal bung from the lamp holder with small flat screwdriver 

 

Black or white kits E14 or E27 are pretty much the same. 

Holes outlined in blue are the push fit Holes. 

SAFETY ADVICE.

 The wires must go opposite each other as depicted.   
If you put both wires on the same side the lamp will blow the fuse in the plug and the lamp will not work.  
 
 Feed the wires through the universal bung then push the two wires into either connector as shown below.     
  Just push the ends into the holes as shown. 
 
DO NOT PUSH THE WIRES INTO PLACE UNTIL THIS STAGE THEY WILL NOT COME OUT. 
DO NOT PUSH THE WIRES INTO PLACE UNTIL THIS STAGE THEY WILL NOT COME OUT.

Re-connect the lamp holder and universal bung together.   

(If you want to fill the bottle with small beads or similar then do it at this stage).  

Push the lamp holder and universal bung into the bottle neck, so it is firmly in place. 

Pull the cable at the rear of the bottle to gently take up the slack and push the grommet into place so the cable is

 protected from the glass.   

 

Congratulations you have your bottle lamp just add the bulb and the lampshade of your choice.
